With the financial situation climate the way that it is today, many people are trying to cut corners and to save money any way that they can. We all get gray hairs as we age, and it’s easy to cover them up with the right hair dye. Make sure, however, that you are matching the color of dye you use with your own color. It is also okay to dye your hair as long as you’re only going two to three shades lighter or darker. Anything deeper indicates a drastic change and should be done in a beauty salon by a trained technician.

Have a Realistic Idea

All too often, women and men go into the salon with the idea of something that they want done. Unfortunately, that something is not feasible to do with their hair. For instance, if you currently have a pixie cut, but you want your style to be radically different, don’t expect a salon technician to achieve the look you want without adding extensions. When you’re looking at new styles to try, make sure that you pick one that can actually be accomplished with your current hairstyle.

Be Flexible

The trick to finding a good technician and salon is being able to trust them to know what they’re doing. Even though you have an idea of what you want in mind, be a bit flexible about the final cut or style. For instance, you may say that you want three inches cut, but your salon technician may decide to cut only two. This is often because many people overestimate how much they want cut, so the technician is trying to make sure that you get what you want. When you go for a new ‘do, make sure you’re a bit flexible about what you want, and be certain that what you want is something that can be accomplished with your hair.
